What is the opportunity?: 
The Horizon platform aims to give end users an experience that is better than native. In order to accomplish that, all possible user peripherals and devices need to be supported. This requires a deep understanding of the underlying workflows, APIs, and technical specifications of numerous device types. By intercepting and remoting these devices, they can be made available to use in the remote desktop, and allow users a secure and rich experience.    

Core Responsibilities: 

         Explore how the Horizon suite of features and workflows can be enhanced with device redirection. For instance, 2FA for various apps using hardware keys. 

         Design, implement, and deliver features on the platform working with other engineers, product managers, and teams across the world. 

         Interface with outside companies to help understand new technologies and peripherals customers are looking to adopt. 

         Own the quality of the Horizon remote device stack, including the CI pipelines, unit tests, and customer experience. 

        Ability to mentor and drive junior engineers to deliver items from the roadmap, and also engage with senior engineers to ensure overall architecture decisions align with Omnissa goals. 

 
What will you bring to Omnissa? (List required / preferred skills) 
 

         Proficient in C/C++ and multiple OS developement, especially Windows internals and Windows device driver development 

         Familiar with device protocols, such as USB, smartcards (i.e., PKI), printers (TWAIN), or similar stacks. 

         Knowledge of developer toolkits, specifically GitHub (including workflows, actions,etc.), Jenkins, Artifactory, and FOSSA. 

         Experience using industry standard tools for debugging systems at all layers.

(OPTIONAL) What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?   
This role reports to the Senior Director in charge of the remote experience stack in Horizon, Sean Samenfeld-Specht. Our goal is to make the Horizon experience be better than a native desktop, and push the envelope to deliver the full digital workspace promise. The driving touchstone for the whole organization is to be continuously improving, not just in the code and the product, but in every aspect of how we operate as Omnissa engineers.
