Mobile threat management 2026: Omnissa named a leader

Mobile threats are increasing, and they're getting harder to spot: spoofed voice and text communications, fake login pages, malicious apps, and unsafe Wi-Fi networks. So, what should you worry about today? You could say everything, and (aha!) that is why advanced mobile protection exists. But if I had to narrow it down, your two biggest concerns should be that AI is making it easier (1) for attackers to phish and (2) to weaponize vulnerabilities in operating systems and applications.

Being named a Leader isn't about who spots the most problems. QKS said as much directly: what separates the top vendors is what happens after a threat shows up. Does it just sit in a dashboard as an alert, or does it turn into something useful, like cutting off access, fixing the issue on its own, or handing a security team what they need to dig in? According to QKS, that second part is where Omnissa excels by layering decision-making, response, and observability on top of advanced protection against mobile threats. 

Handling a risky phone: How it gets easier for IT and security teams 

Here's what that looks like in practice. Workspace ONE Mobile Threat Defense monitors a phone for risk, catching things like an unsafe network, a malicious app, a phishing attempt, and risky or leaky app behavior. Workspace ONE unified endpoint management (UEM) is what manages that phone day to day, including whether it can reach company email, apps, or data. When Mobile Threat Defense flags a risk, UEM can act on it right away, changing what that phone is allowed to do without anyone stepping in manually.

Protecting your organization–and people’s privacy 

QKS also highlighted the need for privacy. Mobile threat protection solutions don't need to see everything on a phone to identify risk. Mobile Threat Defense can analyze app metadata, device configuration, and network connections–not the actual content–so it's not reading messages, photos, or browsing history. And IT can take things further with the choice to limit what admins see.  

For example, an admin can be notified when a device connects to a rogue network or has a flagged app, without ever specifically identifying which network or app. That privacy choice matters in BYOD situations, where an app or a network name might reveal something personal about an employee, unrelated to the threat itself.
