Omnissa unifies server and endpoint management in Workspace ONE UEM

Workspace ONE UEM enables Windows Server management from a single, cloud-native solution for greater consistency and control and at a lower cost than traditional on-premises management solutions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – May 6, 2024 – Omnissa®, a leading AI-driven digital work platform company, today announced the general availability of Windows Server management in Omnissa Workspace ONE®, bringing servers into the same unified endpoint management (UEM) solution used to manage all endpoints. Organizations can now secure and automate management of Windows Servers alongside desktops, mobile devices, rugged endpoints, and IoT from a single, cloud-native UEM solution. This reduces reliance on costly legacy tools and supports operational performance by minimizing the friction between infrastructure and the endpoint, while laying the foundation for more autonomous endpoint management.

Servers now power the applications, AI models, and workflows driving modern digital work, yet they remain managed in isolation through legacy and on-premises server management tools that add cost and complexity. By bringing Windows Server into Workspace ONE, Omnissa removes this disconnect, enabling IT teams to manage servers and endpoints together through a single platform.

“Customers are looking to move beyond siloed tools that add complexity and limit visibility and control,” said Hemant Sahani, vice president of product management at Omnissa. “With Workspace ONE, teams can manage Windows Server at a much lower cost than Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, using the same workflows, policies and automations they already rely on for other endpoints. This strengthens security and compliance, while streamlining server lifecycle management."

Key benefits of managing Windows Server with Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM include:

  • Hardened server security: Enable always-on security with over-the-air configuration management that does not rely on traditional network domains. Cloud-native management supports real-time security posture enforcement and remediation, helping IT teams enforce server-specific baseline policies and automate patching to protect systems and workloads.
  • AI-optimized performance: Leverage AI/ML-powered insights and secure remote control to proactively identify and resolve performance and security bottlenecks. Detailed inventory tracking, including installed roles and access logs, is accessible remotely which can lead to improved operational visibility across servers powering the apps, intelligence, and end-user compute workloads – the lifeblood of any organization.
  • Unified management and lower TCO: Consolidate disparate IT tools by managing Windows servers alongside all other endpoints. This can reduce server management total cost of ownership (TCO) by helping to eliminate reliance on costly legacy tools and can enable administrators to use consistent workflows.

“This new capability from Omnissa solves a real challenge for our customers. As IT environments grow more complex, the ability to manage servers alongside other endpoints with a single solution helps simplify operations and improve security,” said Kurt Ostrom, senior solutions architect for CDW. “With Omnissa, customers can now extend the UEM solution they already use to include servers. That makes a huge difference in day-to-day operations and overall cost-savings.”

This announcement reflects more than a broader shift toward consolidating IT management into a single, unified platform. It is a fundamental shift in how organizations support the scalability and stability of their digital operations. By integrating server management into Workspace ONE, organizations can move away from fragmented tools and simplify how their digital workspace environments are managed, while advancing toward autonomous endpoint management at scale.
