The Omnissa DEX Agent for end users is an AI agent that runs on the endpoint, diagnoses an employee's device issue, applies the fix, and confirms it worked. It's coming soon, and it's the individual-employee counterpart to the fleet-level DEX Agent we showed earlier this fall.

What problem does the DEX Agent for end users solve?

IT teams rank their queues by impact, and that's the right call. An outage affecting thousands of people comes first. But an issue that hits one user or one device sinks to the bottom. Mean time to resolve (MTTR) stays high, and the person on the other end is stuck with frustration and downtime.

Nobody should need a fleet-wide outage to get help.

How does the Omnissa DEX Agent work?

The Omnissa DEX Agent for end users runs on the endpoint. Employees reach it in Omnissa Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub, or in the collaboration tools they already use, like Slack. There's no ticket form and no portal to hunt for.

1. Describe it: The employee says what's wrong in plain language.

2. Diagnose it: The agent investigates the device in context.

3. Approve it: The agent presents a fix, and the employee approves it.

4. Confirm it: The agent checks that the fix actually worked, rather than stopping once it ran.

How is it different from other on-device agents?

Other solutions have agents on the device. What sets Omnissa apart is that ours can act there. We extended the telemetry agent already in Intelligent Hub to include remediation, using unified endpoint management (UEM) actions that don't require Omnissa to be the management certificate holder on the device. That means it works even on devices that another tool manages. The agent that sees the problem is the one that fixes it.

The Omnissa DEX Agent can fix Wi-Fi and VPN issues directly, and the same approach extends to patching, security, and compliance. It doesn't wait on server-side syncs to act. Depending on policy, it can either prompt the employee to make the change or apply the fix itself. Many other solutions can only notify the employee and ask them to act, which leaves the employee with a task instead of a resolved problem.

That reach is why this isn't only a support story. The endpoint is where experience, management, and security meet. A stale patch or a drifted configuration is both a productivity problem and an exposure, and closing that gap in minutes rather than waiting for a sync or a ticket matters for both.

How does IT stay in control?

Closing the gap between "seen" and "fixed" doesn't mean handing over the keys. IT remains the policy holder, setting what the agent can and can't do, including whether it prompts the employee or applies the fix itself. This follows the principle behind our approach to the agentic endpoint: decide what an agent can do before it acts, and keep a person in the loop where it matters. The employee's approval step is part of that.

What changes for employees and IT?

  • For employees: Downtime on their own issues drops from hours or days to minutes.
  • For IT: Less time reacting to common, low-complexity requests, and more time on higher-value work.
