Another year, another fantastic wave of Apple releases for IT teams to plan around. iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, tvOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27 landed on September 14, 2026, and this cycle carries more than the usual feature refresh.

Most notably, Apple is retiring legacy mobile device management (MDM) update commands outright and pushing organizations further into declarative device management. Additionally, at its "Surprise and Shine" event on September 9, 2026, Apple unveiled impressive new iPhone hardware: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo... a highly anticipated feat of engineering!

While the industry scrambles to catch up, Omnissa customers are already ahead of the curve. That's the promise of same-day support, and this year, we're delivering it in two powerful ways.

Same-day platform readiness

The new operating systems and new iPhone hardware are seeded into Workspace ONE UEM SaaS environments already, with no patch required. Customers on our SaaS service can enroll and manage devices running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, tvOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and the new iPhone lineup (iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max start shipping September 18, with the iPhone Duo following on October 23) from day one, with no action needed on the customer's part. These new devices are also immediately available as criteria in filters and smart groups, so admins can target them in assignments right away.

New keys and payloads: rollout in progress

Support for the new MDM/DDM keys and payloads Apple introduced in iOS 27, sourced directly from Apple's public device management seed branch, is landing through Workspace ONE UEM 2602 Patch 15, 2604 Patch 15, and 2607 Patch 2. These keys and payloads are already available for customers to explore and test in shared SaaS UAT environments today, with production availability rolling out with each patch.

The most consequential change for admins: Apple has fully deprecated the legacy ScheduleOS Update MDM command and related profile settings in OS 27. Declarative software update management is now the only supported path. The good news is Workspace ONE UEM’s Device Updates dashboard now provides options that make this transition simpler which are also rolling out in 2607, giving customers that still rely on the legacy command a clear path forward.

Organizations running on-premises infrastructure should also confirm their servers meet Apple's stricter network requirements for OS 27 (TLS 1.2+, updated key exchange and certificate requirements). These are already fully supported in Omnissa's cloud infrastructure.

Workspace ONE applications supported on Apple's latest releases

All Workspace ONE applications have been tested and are supported on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, including Intelligent Hub, Boxer, Content, Web, Tunnel, Assist, PIV-D Manager, and more.

Explore the broader set of iOS 27 management capabilities beyond these specific keys and payloads.

Note that on macOS 27, Intelligent Hub and Tunnel are supported on Apple silicon only; Intel Mac support ends with this release.
