At Omnissa ONE 2026, we're giving Horizon customers more control over where they run virtual desktops and applications. New and expanded integrations across hypervisors and clouds provide more options for VDI, DaaS, and apps deployment. To bring even greater visibility into Horizon 8 environments, Omnissa Monitor will be generally available in Horizon 8 2609.
Run on the infrastructure that works for you
Horizon is expanding infrastructure choice across private data centers, hybrid environments, and public clouds while maintaining the experience users and IT teams rely on. This flexibility allows customers to choose infrastructure that makes sense for their business. Customers can reduce infrastructure costs by leveraging their existing platform investments or choosing new options.
Red Hat OpenShift
For customers evaluating new virtualization options, Red Hat OpenShift virtualization gives Horizon another path across private data centers and hybrid environments. Customers can use existing data center capacity while continuing to deliver desktops and applications through Horizon. Horizon 8 on Red Hat OpenShift is expected to be in limited availability in Horizon 8 2609.
Horizon Cloud on OpenStack
Horizon Cloud on OpenStack enables organizations and service providers to use existing OpenStack capacity with the cloud-managed Horizon Control Plane. Omnissa manages the control plane, reducing the infrastructure IT teams need to deploy and maintain. Horizon Cloud on OpenStack is expected to be generally available in Horizon Cloud 2609.
Horizon Cloud on Nutanix
Horizon Cloud on Nutanix, now in limited availability, combines Nutanix infrastructure with the Horizon Control Plane. Customers get another path to DaaS while keeping workloads in their own data center.
Horizon Cloud on Google Cloud Platform
For organizations expanding their digital workspace strategy, Horizon Cloud on Google Cloud Platform is now in beta and targeted for limited availability with Horizon Cloud 2609. GCP-hosted desktops are managed through the Horizon Universal Console, providing a consistent management experience as customers scale into the public cloud.
Google Distributed Cloud
Beyond public cloud deployments, Horizon 8 will soon also enter beta on Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), bringing Horizon to distributed and sovereignty-focused environments where data residency, operational resilience, and local control are key requirements.
HPE Morpheus Software
We're also working with HPE to integrate Horizon with HPE Morpheus Software – VM essentials. The integration will expand virtualization infrastructure choice for Horizon customers and is expected to beta in Horizon 8 2609.
Gain deeper visibility into Horizon operations
Omnissa Monitor brings purpose-built monitoring to Horizon 8 on-premises environments, giving IT teams comprehensive visibility into infrastructure health, resource utilization, system availability, and Horizon sessions. With these insights in one place, administrators can identify issues earlier, troubleshoot faster, and operate their Horizon environments more efficiently.
Together, these updates give customers more infrastructure choices for Horizon and greater visibility into their Horizon 8 environments.
