As Horizon® 8 deployments scale, visibility across the environment becomes critical to maintaining performance and user experience.

Many administrators today rely on a mix of tools to monitor infrastructure and user activity, often requiring manual correlation of data across systems. This challenge is especially pronounced in on-premises environments and organizations that cannot (or choose not to) send monitoring data to the cloud due to compliance or data control requirements.

At the same time, the monitoring landscape around Horizon has continued to evolve. Many of the tools customers have relied on were not built specifically for Horizon or require additional integration and overhead to deliver a complete view.

This created an opportunity for Omnissa to take a more integrated approach, one that is built directly into the Horizon ecosystem and designed specifically for how Horizon environments operate today.

A native monitoring experience for Horizon 8

Omnissa Monitor is designed to give admins running Horizon on-premises a monitoring solution that brings both system health and the end-user experience into a single view.

It provides real-time insight into user sessions, infrastructure performance, and overall environment health, helping teams detect issues earlier, understand their impact on users, and maintain a more consistent experience, without adding operational complexity or requiring multiple tools.

Omnissa Monitor was built specifically for Horizon environments, combining session visibility, infrastructure monitoring, and operational insights into a single, cohesive experience.

With Omnissa Monitor, admins get:

  • Unified environment view: Gain visibility into the health and status of Horizon pods, sessions, desktops, and apps from a single, unified view. Identify trends across your entire Horizon footprint all in one place.
  • Infrastructure health at a glance: Built-in dashboards show the health, availability, and performance of key Horizon components like Connection Servers and unified access gateways (UAG), so you can monitor your environment without affecting desktop and application delivery.
  • End-user performance: Analyze real-time and historical session and virtual machine (VM) performance to quickly identify the root cause of issues like slow logins, session disconnects, or poor desktop responsiveness.
  • Historical insight: Analyze trends, troubleshoot past issues, and plan more effectively using up to three months of historical data.
  • Monitoring data access: Integrate monitoring metrics into your in-house automation and reporting workflow, giving you full data portability across your environment.

Together, these capabilities provide a strong foundation for monitoring Horizon environments on-premises, giving IT teams the visibility they need to improve user experience, reduce downtime, and operate more efficiently. Building on this foundation, we’re developing an advanced experience that will extend visibility into end-user experience and application performance, providing deeper insight into how their environments perform from the user’s perspective. We'll share more details in future updates.

Get early access

We’re opening a beta* program for Omnissa Monitor and inviting Horizon 8 customers to participate. This is an opportunity to gain early access, simplify how you monitor and manage your Horizon environment, and help shape the direction of the product.

If you’re interested in participating, please contact your Omnissa account executive to learn more and get started.

* Some capabilities discussed are not part of the beta release but are planned for general availability.
