EU Data Act overview

Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 (the “Data Act”), which entered into force on September 12, 2025, is a new addition to the European Union’s data strategy, establishing a unified framework for accessing, using, and sharing data across connected products, digital services, and processing services, including cloud and edge computing. The Data Act introduces new requirements for data processing service providers regarding user portability of data and accompanying contractual commitments enabling user-controlled “switching” mechanisms between service providers.

Data portability in Omnissa cloud services

Omnissa has long supported the ability to export data from our offerings in standard formats. Prior to the end of the customer’s subscription term, customer administrators can export data directly from Omnissa online consoles. The table below describes the exportable data that customers can access and export and machine-readable formats available for each cloud service. We have also included a link to documentation that provides guidance on how to export data for each cloud service.
