The Opportunity As a Software/Senior Software Engineer (C#) on the Workspace ONE Assist Product at Omnissa : 

  • Champion engineering initiatives and foster a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and excellence. 

  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, 5-whys, and RCCAs 

  • Identify process or pipeline improvements to increase team efficiency 

  • Participate in the on-call rotation 

  • Handle customer-impacting escalations, prioritising engineering work effectively. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, architecting, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems. 

  • Strong expertise in C# and the modern .NET ecosystem (including .NET 10), with deep knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code practices, and software architecture. 

  • Proven ability to design and develop modern, maintainable, secure, and high-performance applications, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and operational excellence. 

  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, and delivery efficiency. 

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and communication protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, gRPC, REST, and distributed application architectures. 

  • Extensive experience developing backend services, microservices, APIs, and platform components using modern .NET technologies. 

  • Experience working in Windows Server and Linux environments, with strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills. 

  • Proficiency with source control systems such as Git, including modern branching, code review, and collaboration workflows. 

  • Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. 

  • Strong knowledge of relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar technologies, with experience in data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning. 

  • Front-end development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular or React is desirable but not required. 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across global geographies, driving technical initiatives from design through production deployment. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. 

  

Location: Chennai 

Location Type: HYBRID.This role offers a balanced arrangement, with the expectation of working 3 days a week in our local office and the flexibility to work from home for the remaining days. It is essential that you reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the office location for the in-office workdays. 

Travel Expectations: 10% of travel, Domestic/International only if business demands. 

  

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? 

This role reports to the Engineering Manager, DEEM. The team is based out of Chennai & Bangalore. We are a close-knit group of senior engineers with deep experience delivering our DEX Agent to the world’s largest companies. We work closely with our counterparts in the US to drive key platform improvements focused on security, service availability, resilience, and cost reduction. The success of our customers is our highest priority.
