What is the opportunity?:

As a GL Senior Analyst, you'll be a key player in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. You'll blend your expertise in technical accounting with a sharp eye for process optimization, directly impacting our financial reporting and compliance. This role involves collaborating with other Finance teams, and continuously working on process improvements to the accounting close.
 

  • Prepare manual journal entries for a number of employee related expenses, including but not limited to Commissions, Severance, Stock, Bonus, PTO etc.  All manual processes will need to be documented in detail.

  • Perform review of all expense accounts related to employee expense accounts, ensuring tie back to support files each period.

  • Support the preparation and review of the balance sheet reconciliations for all employee related accounts.

  • Champion process improvements within the general ledger function particularly in relation to manually tracked tasks.  This would involve leveraging new technologies and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

  • Work closely with payroll teams to ensure correct accounting treatment for all pay categories across all entities.

  • Execute timely and accurate month-end close activities, including preparing complex journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and generating comprehensive reporting.

  • Work with FP&A and other accounting teams on the management of cost centres and GL accounts.  This includes the set up of any new additions, supporting different reporting hierarchies etc.

  • Work with FP&A to support the review of Purchase Orders to ensure correct GL mapping.

  • Support ad hoc projects, focused on understanding the make up of balances in various balance sheet and P&L accounts in areas such as Salaries, Employee Benefits and taxes etc.  This will also include preparing detailed documentation of the accounts and where necessary preparing correcting journal entries and improving processes.

  • Support external audit requests (both at consolidated level and Statutory accounts level) related to expense accounts and associated balance sheet accounts.


What will you bring to Omnissa?
 

  • Relevant experience with a background from a Big 4 accounting firm (consulting) or General ledger background within SaaS based multinational companies preferred.

  • An active ACA or CPA designation and industry accounting experience preferred.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.

  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work within a team to expedite completion of projects with other teams including FP&A and Information Systems.

  • Experience with MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Oracle and other ERP is preferred.
