Simplify IT ops with Quickflows in Freestyle Orchestrator

In dynamic IT environments, there’s a constant need to execute routine actions. Whether that’s for troubleshooting, policy enforcement, compliance remediation—identifying deviations from policies and fixing them, or general environment hygiene. These tasks may not require complex logic or high-level permissions, but they can be time-consuming, repetitive, and prone to inconsistency when done manually.
To address this, we are introducing Quickflows in Omnissa Freestyle Orchestrator. Quickflows are a flexible, on-demand automation feature that empowers teams to execute predefined workflows across selected devices at the click of a button.
Whether you're an IT administrator maintaining fleet-wide compliance, a helpdesk engineer responding to user issues, or a platform team managing the overall health of the endpoint environment, Quickflows simplify common actions, reduce errors, and help teams move faster with greater control.
What are Quickflows?
Quickflows are single-purpose, pre-built automations you can run directly from the Omnissa Intelligence console on selected devices. Unlike traditional automation flows that rely on specific events or conditions to run (trigger), Quickflows are manually executed by admins or delegated roles, enabling on-demand remediation or action across a selected set of devices. Admins can execute Quickflows by selecting devices on the UI within an Intelligence dashboard, Data Explorer, and Playbooks.
With Quickflows, IT administrators can predefine and publish workflows tailored for common operational tasks—without needing to code or configure real-time triggers. These workflows can then be executed as needed on demand, making them an ideal tool for helpdesk engineers and operations teams.

Quickflow example – a simple workflow to send a Slack notification to users of selected devices.
Why Quickflows matter
The core idea behind Quickflows is efficiency and consistency at scale. They remove friction and empower helpdesk engineers to take quick action without reinventing the wheel each time an issue arises. Whether it’s an everyday task like restarting a service, clearing temporary files, remediating policy drift, or a response to system performance or technical issue, Quickflows reduce resolution time and improve the end-user experience.
Even in more complex scenarios—such as multi-step remediations or tasks requiring multiple device actions—Quickflows streamline the process into a single click, reducing human error and increasing operational consistency.
Common use cases
Quickflows are incredibly flexible and can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Here are a few common examples:
- Helpdesk efficiency: Automate recurring remediation tasks such as resetting apps, clearing cache, or restarting services. This helps L1 and L2 engineers resolve issues without escalating unnecessarily.
- Environment hygiene: Identify and remediate devices that haven't been rebooted in 30+ days, which can lead to performance degradation or blocked updates.
- Compliance enforcement: Run checks or remediations on demand to ensure devices meet required configuration baselines or patch levels.
- Selective device actions: Enable admins to apply fixes to only a targeted group of users or devices based on real-time queries or search results.

Quickflow execution example: executing the quarantine device Quickflow against devices selected in the Omnissa Intelligence dashboard.
Built-in Governance and Safety
Quickflows are designed with enterprise-grade governance in mind:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Define which actions are available on the Quickflow based on the user’s role. For example, whether you can view, execute, or create a Quickflow.
- Device scope limit: Admins can only execute Quickflows on devices they have access to, limiting the risk of accidental mass actions and ensuring the impact remains controlled and intentional.
Getting started
Quickflows are available in Omnissa Freestyle Orchestrator via the Omnissa Intelligence console.
- Select one or more target devices in the Omnissa Intelligence console within a dashboard, data explorer widget, or a playbook.
- Choose the desired pre-built automations from the Quickflow library. This library has been built by the admin to be available for others to use based on their role.
- Execute the Quickflow and monitor its progress in real-time.
