October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. A month that draws our attention to some of the critical issues in this ever-evolving threat landscape. More specifically—cyber threats, attack methods, and attack vectors targeting organizations, governments, and individuals.
At Omnissa, we align with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, or CISA, in combating evolving cyber threats by providing resources, fostering awareness, and promoting cybersecurity best practices to our customers and organizations.
With that said, I’m excited to welcome you to our new “All about mobile in 2” vlog series, where we solely focus on securing mobile devices. Mobile devices are popular targets due to their increased use for both work and personal tasks. Mobile devices are the norm, used to conduct business, even if it’s just to read and respond to email. Cybercriminals are adapting nicely to the mobile-first world, evolving their tools and techniques to exploit undefended gaps in mobile security.
Our first episode kicks off with Michael Yee, Director of Strategic Alliances at Lookout, where he shares why mobile devices are the most common blind spots in any organization. Michael also talks about how threat actors can walk right through the door by pretending to be someone else with mobile focused social engineering attacks. These types of attacks, along with the rise of PhaaS, phishing-as-a-service were unveiled in the 2024 Mobile Threat Landscape report.

In future episodes, we’ll continue diving into everything mobile; BYOD, management, security, access, deployment, privacy, traveling, unplugging and anything in between.
