The mandate from every boardroom these days is clear: Deliver AI-enabled workspaces that improve onboarding, strengthen security, streamline support, and elevate the digital employee experience across every device and every user. Yet, for many IT leaders, the path forward remains unclear. Fragmented, legacy systems, siloed data, and limited visibility make it difficult to act with confidence.

The gap between strategic ambition and actual execution is where the most critical work in employee experience is happening today. At Omnissa Presents, leaders from United Airlines and Yapi Kredi shared how they are closing that gap—not through sweeping transformation, but through disciplined, incremental progress built on a foundation of trusted data and clear priorities.

Automation starts with operational priorities

United Airlines manages a 24/7 global operation where service disruptions carry immediate consequences for passengers, staff, and reputation. Every workflow is evaluated against a single standard: Does it maintain or improve operations? Automation was not driven by a technology mandate. Instead, it emerged from operational necessity.

Yapi Kredi, one of Turkey's top three banks with over 800 branches, frames it just as directly. Reliable connectivity, strong data security, and effective device management are what keep digital banking services running. Without them, services pause and customers are lost. Their automation strategy focuses on three outcomes: zero downtime, stronger security, and greater cost and time efficiency.

Despite operating in different industries and geographies, both organizations identified the same starting point: The operational challenge with the highest business impact defines the goal of automation.

Build visibility first

Before introducing automated workflows, Yapi Kredi established visibility across its mobile environment using Omnissa Intelligence dashboards and reports. Device health, application performance, and compliance signals provided the foundation on which its automation strategy was built.

United Airlines found greater value through direct engagement with business stakeholders, surfacing pain points that ticket data alone had failed to reveal.

For both organizations, visibility was a foundational investment, not just a starting point. This mirrors the first phase of Omnissa’s four-stage autonomous workspace model: Alert, Advise, Assist, and Autonomous.  The platform surfaces actionable insights before taking action, establishing the trust needed to gradually delegate control.

Prioritize the right first automation

With visibility in place, prioritizing which opportunities to automate first becomes the next key discipline. One useful approach is an impact-versus-effort framework: Map each potential automation by its business impact against the effort required to implement it, then start with the highest-impact, lowest-effort opportunities.

After applying this lens, United Airlines first automated the management of airport signage devices following its migration to Workspace ONE UEM. Active from day one of the migration, these automations keep flight and gate displays accurate around the clock and automatically restore any application removed from a kiosk.

For Yapi Kredi, the highest-impact starting points were data loss prevention (DLP) agent failures on MacOS devices and network connectivity for field agents delivering banking services on the go. Equipped with Apple iPads, these agents visit customers at their own locations—businesses, shops, homes, and restaurants—to handle banking requirements and even sign new customers up.

Yapi Kredi built a self-healing mechanism in the Workspace ONE UEM console to detect and remediate DLP failures without human involvement, alongside a software development kit (SDK) integration that retries network connections without disrupting active transactions. Now, field agents stay connected wherever they are, even under degraded network conditions.

Build trust throughout the process

United Airlines enforces a strict protocol for every application, deployment, and workflow: All automations must pass through development, user acceptance testing, and production without exception. This consistency gives business partners a predictable process to rely on: They know exactly how a change will be tested before it reaches production.

Automations are also built to evolve. Rather than requiring a person to manually repeat the same task, teams free up that time and attention for the process and technology improvements that matter most, like continuously refining automations as the environment changes.

This progression from visibility to prioritization and disciplined execution mirrors how organizations structure the path to full autonomy. Each stage—alert, advise, assist, autonomous—builds the trust required to hand more control to the system.

From system administrators to architects of outcomes

The shift happening inside these organizations is not only technological. Deployment teams that once operated as task executors have evolved into experience engineers. Their role now is to monitor deployments, catch issues quickly, and resolve them before employees or customers feel any impact.

Across the employee experience—onboarding, application management, updates, security, and support—manual intervention is steadily being replaced by governed, automated outcomes driven by trusted data and disciplined processes. The path to an autonomous workspace is built workflow by workflow.
